US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth threatens Iran over nuclear deal talks

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that CENTCOM will be “busy tonight” as the United States prepares to strike Iranian targets if Tehran does not agree to a nuclear‑related settlement. He said the planned operations will be “strong and clear” strikes on “significant installations” inside Iran, following the recent downing of a U.S. Apache helicopter by an Iranian‑operated drone.

President Donald Trump echoed the warning, stating the United States “hit them hard yesterday and we will hit them hard again today” and urged Iran to conclude an agreement. Iranian officials responded by pledging to stay firm against any pressure and accusing the United States of undermining diplomatic efforts.
