U.S. Department of Defense declassifies UAP documents

The U.S. Department of Defense has released a new batch of declassified documents regarding Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), formerly known as UFOs. This release, part of an initiative under the Trump administration to increase public transparency, includes hundreds of files containing reports from military and civilian observers.

The documents detail various sightings, including luminescent green spheres, metallic discs, and fiery circular formations. Specific reports include historical data from the Sandia military site in New Mexico between 1948 and 1950, where personnel recorded 209 accounts of anomalous objects. Other files include a 2002 military pilot's testimony from Afghanistan regarding a large triangular object and a 2023 report of spheres observed by law enforcement in the western United States.

Additionally, the dossier contains medical debriefings from the Apollo 12 astronauts, who reported seeing sudden flashes and light trails inside their cabin. Despite the breadth of the documentation, which includes materials from the FBI, CIA, and Department of State, the files do not provide conclusive explanations for the nature of these phenomena.
