U.S. Department of Energy identifies Russian companies for diesel supplies
The U.S. Department of Energy has identified specific Russian companies to participate in diesel fuel deliveries to the American market. This development follows a broader agreement announced by U.S. President Donald Trump after discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, stated during the Russian Energy Week forum that the process is progressing well and involves Alexander Novak’s team. While the specific names of the Russian companies have not been disclosed, the U.S. Department of the Treasury has requested assistance from the Russian Direct Investment Fund to manage technical issues and facilitate payments to ensure they reach the intended recipients.
The agreement involves Russia supplying 300,000 tons of diesel fuel and an additional 500,000 tons of other fuels for the U.S. and international markets. To support this, the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control has issued a license authorizing operations related to Russian diesel fuel through April 7, 2027, as part of an effort to increase fuel supply and mitigate price pressures for American consumers.
