U.S. Department of State releases September 2026 Visa Bulletin
The U.S. Department of State has released the September 2026 Visa Bulletin, detailing updates for employment-based and family-sponsored immigrant visa categories.
In the employment-based section, the EB-4 category advances two months to December 15, 2022. However, EB-2 and EB-5 categories for Indian nationals remain unavailable. The State Department noted that EB-2, EB-1 India, and EB-5 unreserved categories may face further unavailability before the new fiscal year begins in October.
For family-sponsored categories, several advancements were noted. The F2A category (spouses and children of permanent residents) moved to August 22, 2026, for most countries, while the date for Mexico moved to August 22, 2025. Other significant shifts include a 13-month advancement for F-1 unmarried sons and daughters of U.S. citizens for China, India, and worldwide, and a 2-year, 5-month advancement for F3 married sons and daughters of U.S. citizens.
