U.S. Department of War Launches New Industrial Base Growth Initiatives

The Department of War (DoW) is advancing a series of reforms aimed at revitalizing the United States defense industrial base (DIB) in line with the 2026 National Defense Strategy, which seeks to make the U.S. the world’s premier arsenal.

The Office of Industrial Base Growth, led by Deputy Assistant Secretary of War James Mismash, is rolling out several initiatives. These include operating the LYNX platform to support the expanding Civil Reserve Manufacturing Network (CRMN) and implementing the long‑standing 1260H List through Section 805 of the FY 2024 National Defense Authorization Act and Section 851 of the FY 2025 NDAA. The measures are intended to broaden participation in the defense marketplace, strengthen supply‑chain resilience, and enable rapid scaling of production in response to emerging threats.
