U.S. Deploys Additional Refueling Aircraft to Israel Amid Rising Iran Tensions

The United States is moving ten more aerial refueling tankers to Ben Gurion Airport, bringing the total of American tanker aircraft stationed there to about 40. The surge follows an earlier agreement to cut the U.S. presence to 20 planes and has already caused civil flight delays of roughly two hours at Israel’s busiest airport during the peak summer travel season.

At the same time, President Donald Trump announced that the United States will intensify military pressure on Iran, saying any strike will be “very hard.” U.S. officials discussed a possible joint American‑Israeli operation targeting Iranian energy infrastructure, with plans to act before markets open on Monday. U.S. embassies across the Middle East warned citizens to prepare for potential escalation.

The buildup and rhetoric come as tensions between Washington, Jerusalem, and Tehran continue to rise, raising concerns about a broader regional conflict.
