US dollar exchange rate in Peru remains stable at end of August

The US dollar exchange rate in Peru showed stability at the start of August 31, following a month of gradual decline. According to the National Superintendency of Customs and Tax Administration (SUNAT), the official purchase rate is S/ 3.348 and the sale rate is S/ 3.356.

Throughout August, the dollar experienced a downward trend. At the beginning of the month, purchase rates were around S/ 3.391 and sale rates reached S/ 3.402. Despite a slight recovery over the weekend, the currency remains cheaper than it was at the start of the month, with the purchase rate decreasing by approximately S/ 0.043 over the 31-day period.

Commercial banks reported varying rates. For instance, Banco de Crédito del Perú listed a purchase rate of S/ 3.525 and a sale rate of S/ 3.540, while Interbank quoted S/ 3.493 for buying and S/ 3.576 for selling. The Central Reserve Bank of Peru continues to oversee currency stability and set daily benchmark rates.
