U.S. Dollar nears two-week high ahead of Federal Reserve decision

The U.S. dollar index reached 102.32, approaching a two-week high, as investors await the Federal Reserve's interest-rate decision. While markets broadly expect the Fed to maintain current rates, CME Group’s FedWatch tool indicates a 78 percent probability of a rate increase of at least 25 basis points in December.

In the United Kingdom, the British pound weakened to $1.3283 against the dollar as traders prepared for the government's budget announcement. Finance Minister John Healey is scheduled to outline fiscal spending, with analysts anticipating potential tax increases targeting online marketplaces, gambling companies, and banks.

Other global market movements include a steady Japanese yen and a relatively flat euro, which remains near its weakest levels of the year. Additionally, the Bank of Canada is scheduled to announce its own interest-rate decision.
