US election officials announce ballot mailing and voting deadlines
Election officials in Snohomish County and Monterey County are providing updates and deadlines for the upcoming November 3 general election.
In Snohomish County, ballots for approximately 535,000 registered voters are scheduled to be mailed on October 9. Auditor Garth Fell stated that ballots are being sent earlier than usual to provide voters with extra time. Officials recommend using county-operated drop boxes or mailing ballots at least one week before Election Day to account for potential U.S. Postal Service delivery and postmarking changes.
In Monterey County, ballots began mailing on October 1. The deadline to register to vote is October 19, with same-day registration available starting October 20. In-person voting options include the Monterey County Elections Office in Salinas and a satellite office in Seaside. Officials recommend that ballots returned via mail be sent by October 27 to ensure timely processing.
