US Embassy aide accused of suppressing cables to shield Netanyahu government

An investigation has revealed that David Milstein, a senior aide to US Ambassador Mike Huckabee at the US Embassy in Jerusalem, systematically suppressed and manipulated diplomatic cables to protect the Israeli government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from Washington's scrutiny.

According to reports, Milstein allegedly blocked or altered assessments regarding several sensitive issues. This included quashing a memorandum warning that West Bank land expansions risked violating US red lines against annexation, and rewriting reports to downplay the risk of Palestinian uprisings.

Furthermore, Milstein is accused of suppressing a detailed embassy inquiry into the killings of nine Palestinian Americans by Israeli forces and settlers. Despite pressure from members of Congress for accountability, Milstein reportedly opted to send brief responses rather than the full, detailed findings which indicated that Israeli investigations into these deaths had yielded no charges.
