U.S. Embassy and USEFP launch artist showcase in Islamabad
The U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP), and the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network opened the inaugural ‘Shahkaar Fankaar Alumni Artist Showcase’ on October 22. The event took place in a new gallery space within the USEFP building in Islamabad, designed to feature the artistic achievements of alumni from U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs.
The debut exhibition is a solo show by Lahore-based artist Minaa Haroon, an alumna of a U.S. Department of State exchange program focused on cultural preservation. Her work utilizes inherited jewelry and accessories to explore themes of memory, identity, and lineage. The opening ceremony was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, representatives from the U.S. Department of State, and various figures from Pakistan’s art community.
