US Energy Experts Inspect Venezuela's Guri Hydroelectric Dam
U.S. Department of Energy specialists and scientists from the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory visited the Guri Dam, Venezuela's main hydroelectric complex that provides more than 60 % of the nation's electricity. The visit, announced by the U.S. Embassy in Caracas, is part of a three‑phase plan promoted by the U.S. administration to help stabilize Venezuela's power grid and support economic recovery. Delegates, including U.S. chargé d'affaires John Barrette, conducted a technical assessment of the dam’s infrastructure and operational conditions. Venezuelan authorities have not released an official comment on the inspection or its preliminary findings.
