U.S. envoy meets Lithuanian officials over Belarus diplomacy
U.S. Special Envoy to Belarus John Coale met with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys in Vilnius to discuss regional security and diplomatic efforts regarding Belarus. Lithuanian Prime Minister Motiejus Sinkevičius expressed gratitude for U.S. diplomatic engagement, noting its importance in addressing hybrid threats and maintaining regional stability.
As part of these diplomatic efforts, 25 political prisoners released in Belarus arrived in Lithuania. In response, Washington is set to lift sanctions on the Belarusian paint manufacturer Lakokraska and the agricultural concern Bellesbumprom. The Lithuanian government continues to support U.S. actions aimed at releasing political prisoners and strengthening the security of the Baltic region.
