US envoys report new ideas in Moscow as Russia deploys jet drones and North Korean support

U.S. presidential special envoy Steve Whitkoff reported hearing ‘new ideas’ regarding the Ukraine conflict following discussions in Moscow. Whitkoff and Jared Kushner participated in a three-hour meeting in Moscow on September 5, which the Kremlin described as having an ‘atmosphere of trust.’

On the battlefield, Russia is deploying new Geran-5 jet-powered drones. These UAVs, featuring jet engines and advanced satellite navigation, are reportedly more difficult for Ukrainian air defenses to intercept due to their higher speeds. Reports suggest significant increases in the production and deployment of these drones throughout the summer.

Furthermore, Ukrainian intelligence indicates that North Korea is providing advanced military support to Russia. This includes the deployment of hundreds of specialized drone operators and technicians to enhance Russian surveillance and strike capabilities. There are also reports of North Korea committing approximately 10,000 soldiers to strategic Russian border regions, including Kursk, Belgorod, and Bryansk, in exchange for security guarantees for Pyongyang.
