US expands South Caucasus influence via TRIPP project

The United States is increasing its strategic involvement in the South Caucasus through the TRIPP project, also referred to as the ‘Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity’. This initiative focuses on a proposed transport corridor through Armenian territory that would connect Azerbaijan with its exclave.

Reports indicate that the US could potentially hold a 74 percent stake in a development company for at least 49 years, granting Americans significant control over regional roads, railways, energy pipelines, and digital networks. This shift follows recent diplomatic developments, including a preliminary peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia and increased engagement from US officials in the region.
