U.S. Food Allergen Recalls Hit Ground Cumin and Popcorn Products

Food manufacturers have issued recalls for two separate products after discovering undeclared allergens. Whole Foods Market and Con Yeager Spice Company warned that ground cumin products may contain undisclosed peanut protein, urging consumers to check press releases for batch numbers, UPC codes and distribution details.

Separately, Prospector Popcorn of Connecticut voluntarily recalled its Belgian Chocolate Toffee‑flavored popcorn after detecting undeclared soy lecithin. The FDA classified the recall as Class II, indicating a low but possible health risk. The 140‑bag batch, with expiration dates from August 5 to October 24, 2026, was sold in Connecticut and New York. No illnesses have been reported. Both recalls emphasize the importance of label reading and contacting manufacturers for refunds or safety confirmation.
