U.S. fuel prices show regional divergence in gasoline and diesel costs

Gasoline and diesel price trends show mixed results across the United States. In Ohio, average gasoline prices fell by 3.6 cents per gallon over the last week to $3.87, which is 30.2 cents lower than a month ago. Conversely, Indiana saw a significant increase, with average gasoline prices rising 17.3 cents per gallon to $3.90.

Nationally, the average gasoline price decreased by 0.4 cents to $4.29 per gallon. Diesel prices saw a more uniform decline, dropping approximately 5.9 cents per gallon to an average of $6.248.

Analysts note that while the current trend is cautiously positive for motorists, several factors could impact future supply, including the aftermath of Hurricane Isaias affecting refineries and ongoing geopolitical uncertainty.
