U.S. government monitors social media to track anti-Flock surveillance opposition

The United States government is reportedly monitoring social media accounts on platforms such as TikTok and Instagram to track opposition to the installation of Flock surveillance cameras. Intelligence bulletins obtained through public records requests indicate that government surveillance centers are monitoring viral anti-Flock posts and alerting local police to upcoming demonstrations.

Authorities have instructed officers to ‘intensify patrols around ALPR [automatic license plate reader] systems’ due to growing resistance. Documents also warn of potential devices being used to identify the locations of Flock cameras.

Separately, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has suggested that artificial intelligence is approaching a stage where it may monitor various aspects of daily life 24/7 to provide broader context for personal assistance.
