US Government Transfers Seized FTX and Alameda Crypto Assets

The United States government moved roughly $250,000 worth of Shiba Inu (SHIB) tokens seized from the collapsed cryptocurrency exchange FTX and its trading affiliate Alameda Research. The tokens were transferred between government‑controlled wallets, with no indication of a sale, as part of ongoing asset management for creditor repayment.

In a separate transaction, a wallet containing $565,400 in assorted tokens—including ETH, RLC, NMR, WBTC, MANA, COMP, YFI and AXS—was emptied and the funds redistributed to new addresses. On the same day, the government also deposited $288 million in seized Bitcoin and Ethereum to Coinbase Prime, continuing a pattern of routing confiscated digital assets to the exchange platform rather than liquidating them immediately.

Both moves are described as internal transfers meant to safeguard value and prepare for eventual distribution to creditors, reflecting the broader effort to handle billions of dollars in crypto assets seized after FTX’s 2022 bankruptcy.
