U.S. Heat Wave Persists into July as Highs Near 110°F in Central Plains

The extreme heat wave that set temperature records across southwest and south‑side Virginia in late June and early July has eased, but a high‑pressure “heat dome” is expected to redevelop over the central United States later this month.
