U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council announces Blueberry Boost Accelerator finalists
The U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council (USHBC), in partnership with innovation advisory firm VentureFuel, has announced the finalists for the 2026 Blueberry Boost Accelerator. The program aims to support entrepreneurs who are expanding the use of blueberries beyond traditional produce and frozen categories into diverse consumer packaged goods (CPG) sectors.
Selected products from the cohort include protein-rich pantry staples, confectionery, children’s beverages, and premium spirits. The initiative responds to consumer trends favoring functional nutrition and convenience, noting that while 93% of consumers view blueberries as a healthy food, many seek more adventurous ways to consume them.
Kevin Hamilton, USHBC vice president of global marketing and communications, stated that the cohort demonstrates the ingredient's versatility in inspiring new markets and consumption occasions without requiring consumers to compromise on flavor or experience.
