House Democrats plan Trump-linked corporate investigations

House Democrats are preparing an investigative strategy to target companies and financial firms linked to President Donald Trump's political and business orbit, should they regain control of the House of Representatives in the November midterm elections.

Rather than pursuing immediate impeachment, which party leaders fear could allow the president to cast himself as a victim of partisan attacks, the strategy focuses on gathering evidence through congressional powers. This includes conducting public hearings, issuing subpoenas, and requesting documents from private entities that may be more responsive to oversight than the White House.

Potential targets mentioned in discussions include major corporations such as Apple, Alphabet, Palantir, Blackstone, BlackRock, and companies owned by Elon Musk, such as Tesla. Lawmakers are also interested in scrutinizing Department of Homeland Security contracts, the president's crypto-related income, and potential ties to foreign sovereign wealth funds and family-linked ventures like 1789 Capital.

Democratic leadership has reportedly already begun sending inquiry letters to organizations including Paramount Skydance and GEO Group to lay the groundwork for potential subpoenas. The White House has stated it is prepared to respond to oversight requests and maintains that the president has worked to thwart the "radical left's agenda."
