U.S. intelligence chief conducts regional security mission including Venezuela

Bradley D. Hansell, the U.S. Department of War intelligence chief, recently completed a regional security mission across Latin America, including visits to Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, and Panama.

In Caracas, Hansell held high-level meetings with Venezuelan leaders and representatives. While the full details of these discussions have not been officially disclosed, the Pentagon confirmed the visit was focused on regional security matters. The mission aimed to strengthen partnerships to counter narcoterrorism threats throughout the hemisphere.

During the leg of the trip in Panama, Hansell met with Public Security Minister Frank Alexis Ábrego and other security officials. Discussions there focused on enhancing intelligence sharing to combat transnational criminal organizations, drug trafficking, and ensuring the security of the Panama Canal.
