Balkan region faces severe heatwaves and widespread wildfires
Multiple Balkan nations are facing severe weather conditions, characterized by intense heatwaves and widespread wildfires.
In Macedonia, more than 20 open-space fires are active, with significant efforts underway to control a large blaze on Mount Kitka. Authorities have noted that some fires may be caused by negligence or malicious intent.
Montenegro is also struggling with numerous active fires across several municipalities, including Podgorica, Herceg Novi, Danilovgrad, Cetinje, and Nikšić.
