Iran-U.S. Conflict Escalates as Tehran Threatens Oil Exports Amid Ongoing US Attacks

Iran’s top military command warned that any U.S. strikes on its nuclear or sensitive facilities will trigger attacks on all U.S. interests and that "not a single drop of oil or gas" will be exported while American aggression continues. The warning follows a series of U.S. bombings of Iranian infrastructure that began on 28 February, alongside Israeli strikes that killed senior Iranian leaders.

Iran has also struck U.S. bases across the Middle East, targeting installations in Bahrain, Iraq and Jordan. The attacks have intensified a regional confrontation that has blocked the Strait of Hormuz, pushing oil prices higher.

In Washington, the war’s cost is already staggering. The Defense Department estimates that ammunition alone cost up to $5 billion in the first two days, with total war‑related spending exceeding $11 billion in the first week. Lawmakers are debating additional funding as the Pentagon seeks a supplemental budget of up to $50 billion. Meanwhile, Iran continues to field low‑cost Shahed drones to sustain its operations.
