The U.S. Department of Justice has announced indictments against 64 foreign nationals across 17 states for election-related crimes. The charges include illegal voting and submitting fraudulent voter registration applications.

According to DOJ data, Minnesota has seen the highest number of indictments with 11 individuals, followed by Pennsylvania with 10 and Texas with 9. Other states facing charges include Louisiana, New Jersey, California, and Florida.

Legal consequences for non-citizens voting in federal elections can include up to one year in prison and fines.
