US Lifts Export Restrictions on Anthropic's Advanced AI Models

The U.S. Department of Commerce announced it has removed the export ban on Anthropic’s two most advanced artificial‑intelligence models, Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5. The restriction, imposed on 12 June over national‑security concerns, was lifted after Anthropic demonstrated that it had addressed the identified risks. A Commerce Department letter quoted Secretary Howard Lutnick saying Anthropic “agreed to proactively identify and address security risks” and would cooperate on future model releases. Anthropic said it will restore access to the models on Wednesday, resuming their commercial availability for consumer‑market and cybersecurity‑focused applications.
