US Marine Corps orders $7.3 million in autonomous ground vehicles
American Rheinmetall has secured a contract valued at approximately $7.28 million to supply autonomous ground vehicles to the US Marine Corps. The order includes 12 Mission Master SP Autonomous Unmanned Ground Vehicles (A-UGVs) and five specialized amphibious kits.
The procurement is being executed by the Defense Logistics Agency, with ADS Inc. acting as the prime contractor. The equipment is destined for the US Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory in Quantico, Virginia, to support operational evaluations, capability development, and testing of autonomous logistics and expeditionary mobility technologies.
The Mission Master SP systems utilize PATH autonomy and a modular payload structure. This latest configuration incorporates advanced autonomous driving technology developed through several years of collaboration with the Marine Corps. While American Rheinmetall coordinates the work within the United States, the project receives support from Rheinmetall Canada.
