US Markets and Precious Metals Decline Amid Geopolitical Tensions

New York stock markets closed lower as selling pressure in technology stocks, driven by concerns over artificial intelligence investments, spread to other sectors. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by over 600 points, a 1.23% decrease, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq also saw declines.

In the commodities market, gold and silver prices experienced sharp drops. Gold fell to its lowest level since August 4, reaching $2,054 per ounce, as investors shifted toward the US dollar. Silver prices also fell by more than 5%.

Geopolitical instability in the Middle East and uncertainty regarding Federal Reserve monetary policy contributed to market volatility. Concerns regarding potential escalations in the region and rhetoric surrounding the Strait of Hormuz influenced investor risk perception, while rising oil prices, with Brent crude exceeding $117 per barrel, added to economic uncertainty.
