U.S. Marshals arrest Blake Lachance in Westbrook

Blake Lachance, a 21-year-old from Lewiston, Maine, has been apprehended in Westbrook following a statewide manhunt. The arrest occurred on October 20 after Lachance attempted to flee a residence on foot, where he was subsequently detained by a perimeter team.

Lachance is facing multiple felony state charges, including aggravated assault, aggravated reckless conduct, and criminal mischief. The pursuit began after a police raid on a property on Waldo Street in Rumford, where reports of drug activity and shots fired had prompted a shelter-in-place advisory. Lachance had fled the scene prior to authorities securing the area.

The apprehension was the result of a multi-agency operation involving the U.S. Marshals Service, the Homeland Security Task Force, the Maine Violent Offender Task Force, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, and several local police departments from Westbrook, Rumford, and Lewiston.
