US medical specialists perform free reconstructive surgeries in Mexico

A group of 83 medical specialists, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses, are conducting free reconstructive surgeries in Mexicali, Mexico. Operating through the INTERFACE organization, the volunteers are utilizing facilities at the Cruz Roja Lazaro Cardenas.

Dr. Héctor Martínez, a lead organizer who has participated in this mission for 25 years, noted that the medical team does not charge fees or honorariums. The mission relies on cooperation with customs officials to transport necessary medical equipment into the country at no cost to the patients. The initiative also includes psychological support, continuing a legacy of care established by previous volunteers.
