US military aid to Ukraine drops over 50% in 2026

United States military aid deliveries to Ukraine have decreased by more than 50% in 2026. Contract fulfillment under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) slowed from a monthly average of $587 million in 2025 to $265 million per month this year.

Following a policy pivot by President Donald Trump in early 2025, Congress passed no new supplemental aid packages. This shift, combined with Pentagon readiness concerns that halted direct stockpile transfers, made USAI the primary pipeline for military aid, relying on previously funded commercial defense contracts. While the program delivered $7.05 billion in equipment throughout 2025, the monthly outflow dropped sharply to an average of $265 million in 2026.
