US military and financial aid to Ukraine decreases under Trump

Since Donald Trump took office, United States military and financial assistance to Ukraine has significantly declined. While the previous administration under Joe Biden provided nearly $130 billion in aid, the amount has dropped to approximately $540 million under the current presidency.

Despite this reduction, the United States remains the largest individual contributor to Ukraine. Since the start of the war, the US has provided over $130 billion, which is more than double the $60 billion contributed by Germany, the second-largest donor. Of the total US aid, nearly $70 billion has been allocated for weapons and military equipment, $53 billion for direct budget support, and $4 billion for humanitarian purposes.

President Trump has repeatedly urged European nations to assume a greater share of the financial burden, arguing that the Russian presence poses a more direct threat to the continent and noting that Europe's economic performance and population are comparable to those of the United States.
