U.S. military bases in Middle East face decades of reconstruction after Iranian attacks

U.S. military bases in the Middle East have sustained “irreparable damage” due to Iranian attacks, according to an anonymous U.S. service member. The source stated that reconstruction could take “decades” rather than months, noting that the process would require years of construction to restore what has been destroyed.

The military official also alleged a lack of transparency from the Pentagon regarding the ongoing conflict, claiming that drone and ballistic missile attacks on bases are occurring daily while the full extent is being kept secret. Satellite imagery has reportedly documented impacts across several locations, including Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, and Jordan.

Reports from MeidasTouch highlighted severe damage at a U.S. base in Kuwait, showing destroyed structures and a direct hit on a reinforced bunker, alongside a completely destroyed airfield. A Pentagon Inspector General report estimated the cost of the conflict at $33.4 billion during its first four months, noting that hundreds of buildings and structures in the region have been damaged.
