US Military Casualties in Iran Conflict Top 400, Pentagon Report Shows

Pentagon documents obtained by The War Horse reveal that more than 400 U.S. service members were wounded in clashes with Iran between Feb. 28 and Apr. 8. The injuries span ground forces, navy, air force and Marine Corps, with the majority among Army personnel. At least 64 officers—including senior ranks such as colonels, brigadier generals and a major general—were among the wounded, and roughly 170 soldiers suffered head trauma. The report also notes that many of the injured were reservists.

Separately, a senior officer at U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) circulated an internal email asking staff to propose “new, creative and unconventional” ways to pressure Iran. The request came as the Trump administration considered escalating its military and diplomatic pressure on Tehran, but the plan was reportedly shelved after Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman pursued de‑escalation. The email highlights the U.S. search for novel tactics amid a stalled conflict with Iran.
