U.S. military conducts rescue in Iran amid claims of Chinese intelligence support for Iranian strikes

Newly declassified footage has revealed a high-risk U.S. military rescue operation to recover two Air Force officers after their fighter jets were downed in Iran. The two officers, codenamed ‘Alpha’ and ‘Bravo,’ parachuted into a mountainous region in southern Isfahan. The rescue of ‘Alpha’ was conducted in daylight involving 21 American aircraft, while ‘Bravo,’ a wounded weapons systems officer, was located via CIA technology and extracted two days later by Air Force Pararescue teams.

Separately, U.S. officials allege that Iran utilized high-resolution satellite imagery from Chinese sources to facilitate a deadly missile attack on a U.S. military base in Jordan on July 17. The strike on the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base resulted in the deaths of three American service members and injured four others. While Washington has not directly accused Beijing of complicity, officials noted that Chinese entities provided imagery both before and after the attack, despite previous U.S. warnings regarding the provision of such data to Tehran.
