U.S. military gender dysphoria patient counts rose under Biden administration

Internal Defense Health Agency (DHA) records obtained through Freedom of Information Act litigation show a significant increase in patients diagnosed with “gender dysphoria” within the U.S. military during the Biden administration.

According to the data, patient counts rose by approximately 82% during President Joe Biden’s first year in office, increasing from 2,221 patients in 2020 to 4,034 in 2021. The dataset, which spans from 2014 to 2022, identifies 17,596 unique patients, including 3,807 individuals under the age of 18.

James Fitzpatrick, director of the Center to Advance Security in America (CASA), expressed concern that the surge could indicate individuals joining the military specifically to access medical care. The DHA did not provide a comment regarding the findings by the time of publication.
