Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife, Peng Liyuan, conducted a three-day official visit to the United States, meeting with President Donald Trump and Melania Trump at the White House. During a tea party, President Trump reported that the two nations have made ‘immense progress’ in their relationship, noting discussions on concrete issues that would benefit American farmers.

President Xi described the hospitality as ‘flawless’ and emphasized a shared vision for a constructive relationship based on respect, fairness, and reciprocity. The leaders discussed the future of US-China relations, with plans for further summits, including the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in China this November and the G-20 Summit in Miami in December.

The visit also featured a high-profile arrival at Joint Base Andrews, characterized by a rare military welcome including a 21-gun salute and flyovers by B-1, F-16, and F-22 aircraft.
