US Navy implements strategy in Strait of Hormuz to pressure Iran

The United States Navy has implemented a dual-objective strategy in the Persian Gulf aimed at exerting pressure on Iran. The first objective involves a naval blockade on Iranian imports of food, consumer goods, and essential items. This measure has coincided with reports of accelerating inflation exceeding 70 percent in Iran, a labor market crisis involving the loss of one million jobs, and declining retail sales in major cities.

Simultaneously, the blockade has halted oil revenues by preventing Iranian tankers and clandestine fleets from exiting the Strait of Hormuz, leaving oil stuck in Kharg deposits. The second objective of the US Navy is to reduce Iran's ability to obstruct commercial transit through the Strait. Previously, Iran controlled transit by requiring ships to use Tehran-controlled waters and pay tolls, but recent data indicates a significant reduction in Iranian control over the passage of oil volumes toward the ocean.
