US Navy maintains indefinite blockade of Iranian ports
US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has stated that the United States Navy has the capability to maintain a naval blockade of Iranian ports indefinitely by rotating vessels in and out of the region. In response to the ongoing tension, the Pentagon is reportedly preparing to deploy the aircraft carrier USS George Washington to the Middle East to replace the USS Abraham Lincoln.
