U.S. Navy warships scheduled for port calls in Thailand

U.S. Navy warships, including the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and two accompanying vessels, are scheduled to dock at Laem Chabang Port in Chon Buri, Thailand, from September 2 to 6, 2026. Approximately 5,000 personnel are expected to arrive, with roughly 3,000 anticipated to visit Pattaya for rest and recreation.

To manage the visit, Thai authorities and U.S. Embassy security officials have coordinated extensive protection plans. In Chon Buri and Rayong, security arrangements focus on protecting service members at Laem Chabang, Si Racha, and Map Ta Phut ports.

Pattaya City officials have implemented specific restrictions for visiting personnel to maintain order and safety. These include a 2 a.m. curfew for Pattaya Walking Street, prohibitions on entering certain streets (Soi 6, Soi 6/1, and Soi 7), and bans on entering cannabis shops and pharmacies. Additionally, personnel are prohibited from participating in water-based activities. Local authorities have also instructed businesses to provide fair pricing and emphasized strict enforcement of laws against sexual exploitation and prostitution.
