U.S. News high school rankings highlight top STEM and regional performers

U.S. News & World Report has released its latest rankings for public high schools, evaluating nearly 18,000 institutions nationwide based on six performance indicators, including graduation rates, state test scores, and college readiness.

In New Jersey, High Technology High School in Lincroft was ranked as the number one STEM high school in the United States. The state showed strong performance overall, with 44.1% of its eligible schools ranking in the top 25% nationally, trailing only Massachusetts.

In New York, several schools in the Hudson Valley region appeared on the state's top performers list. However, the report noted that New York schools could not be fully credited in two major categories—comprising 40% of the total score—because the state did not authorize the sharing of Advanced Placement (AP) exam data.
