U.S. News & World Report releases top high school rankings

The U.S. News & World Report has released its rankings for the top high schools in America for the 2026–2027 school year. The evaluation considered nearly 27,000 eligible public high schools, with approximately 18,000 receiving national rankings.

Rankings were determined based on several metrics, including college readiness, state assessments, graduation rates, and the performance of underserved students. The report aims to highlight institutions that provide strong academic programs, advanced coursework, and resources to prepare students for future careers.

Leading the rankings are Central Magnet School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Signature School in Evansville, Indiana, both of which reported a 100% graduation rate.
