US offers $10M bounty on Iranian cyber official Amir Yaryab

The US State Department has offered a $10 million reward through its ‘Rewards for Justice’ program for information leading to the identification or location of Amir Yaryab. Yaryab is a senior official in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) who allegedly oversees cyber units responsible for attacking critical infrastructure.

Yaryab leads the IRGC Cyber-Electronic Command’s Cyber Operations Command. This command manages a network of state-directed hacking groups, including CyberAv3ngers, Dadeh Afzar Arman (DAA), and Mehrsam Andisheh Saz Nik. These entities are accused of conducting cyber operations against defense, energy, financial, telecommunications, maritime, aviation, and media sectors across the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.

The bounty follows a pattern of US actions targeting IRGC leaders connected to cyber threats, with similar $10 million rewards issued earlier in 2026. The program offers financial incentives and, in certain circumstances, relocation support for individuals providing information on foreign-directed cyber operations deemed malicious under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.
