US Office Workers Gain Productivity from AI Tools and Walk Breaks

A survey of 2,000 U.S. office employees found that workers who fully integrate artificial‑intelligence tools into their daily workflow report significantly higher productivity. About 52 % said AI let them finish tasks faster, and 83 % of those with full integration claimed a productivity boost, compared with only 20 % of partial users. AI adoption was high across functions—research, writing and data analysis—with 88 % of respondents using such tools. Younger generations embraced the technology most, and men were slightly more likely than women to report productivity gains.

A separate study by Columbia University involving more than 11,000 U.S. office workers examined the impact of short movement breaks. Participants took 5‑minute walking walks at varying intervals. The researchers identified hourly walks as the most balanced approach, improving mood, attention, energy and overall work performance without overly disrupting workflow. The findings suggest that regular micro‑breaks can enhance both physical health and mental focus for desk‑bound employees.
