US security officials hold secret Camp David meeting on Iran and Yemen

Senior US national security officials held an unannounced, high-level meeting at Camp David to discuss strategic responses to the conflict in Iran and the Houthi insurgency in Yemen. The meeting, which was chaired by Vice President JD Vance, included key administration figures such as Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and General Dan Caine.

The discussions occurred amid a deadlock in diplomatic negotiations with Tehran. President Trump has issued an ultimatum, stating that Iran must sign a comprehensive agreement or face severe consequences, suggesting the possibility of resuming major military operations.

Separately, the administration is addressing requests from Saudi Arabia for US participation in airstrikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen to secure the Red Sea coast and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. While the President has previously shown reluctance toward direct intervention in Yemen, officials indicate his position remains fluid following the recent deliberations.
