US Open golf: Dustin Johnson caught vaping while LIV stars miss cut

During the second round of the 2026 U.S. Open at Shinnecock, Dustin Johnson was captured on camera using a vape pen. No PGA Tour rule forbids vaping or smoking on the course, and Johnson, who previously said he occasionally smokes cigars, finished the round at three‑over par to make the cut, alongside five other LIV Golf players.

In the same tournament, LIV Golf teammates Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm failed to make the cut. The miss marks Rahm's second cut miss in his last 27 major appearances and DeChambeau's second consecutive U.S. Open cut miss. Both declined interview requests. Their struggles come as the Saudi Public Investment Fund plans to withdraw its financial support for LIV Golf after the season, placing the league’s future funding in doubt.
