US Open results: Alcaraz eyes Laver Cup as Arévalo exits quarterfinals

Following the US Open, tennis player Carlos Alcaraz is shifting his focus toward the Laver Cup and an upcoming Asian tour. Despite being eliminated from the US Open after a loss to Ben Shelton in the quarterfinals, Alcaraz expressed satisfaction with his performance and physical condition following a period of inactivity. He plans to combine rest and training before participating in the Laver Cup, an event organized by Roger Federer’s agency.

In doubles competition, the pairing of Marcelo Arévalo and Mate Pavić was eliminated in the US Open quarterfinals. They lost a closely contested match to German players Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz with a score of 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(7). The match was decided in a third-set super tie-break, ending the Salvadoran and Croatian duo's pursuit of a Grand Slam title.
