US parents increasingly provide financial support to adult children

A growing number of American parents are providing regular financial assistance to their adult children. Approximately half of parents with adult offspring now offer consistent financial help, a figure that continues to rise.

The average monthly support per adult child has reached roughly $1,474, representing a 6% increase from the previous year. This assistance is primarily directed toward essential living expenses rather than luxury items. Specifically, 83% of contributing parents help with grocery payments, 65% assist with cell phone bills, and 46% help with vacations.
