US pension funds projected to sell $33 billion in equities

US pension funds are projected to sell approximately $33 billion in equities at the end of September, according to data from Goldman Sachs. This volume of sales represents the 98th percentile of the firm's data dating back to 2000.

In contrast, commodity trading desks are positioned to purchase roughly $11.5 billion in global equities if markets remain stable. These purchases could increase to $29.9 billion if stocks rise, while a market downturn could trigger sales of approximately $15.8 billion.
